1. Samsung

South Korean client electronics large Samsung continues to top the list with 20.9% market share. Despite the  year-on-year fall of 10.4% in shipments the company managed to be on the highest. The flagship S9/S9+, that launched late in the first quarter, witnessed slower than normal sales according to Samsung. Samsung claims the delay is due to both intensified competition at the high end and an overall sluggish smartphone market. However, the company is hopeful that with the arrival of Galaxy Note 9 it'll witness an increase in sales.

2. Huawei

The second entry on the list is kind of stunning. Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has captured the second spot by surpassing Cupertino based tech giant Apple. With the total shipment of 54.2 million devices globally, the company has become the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. the company witnessed year-on-year growth of 40.9%, that took the market share of the company to 15.8%. in the second half, with the release of its "GPU Turbo" technology, Huawei continued  to earn an honest reputation. 618 promotions led to strong sales for Honor models in the online channels because the Honor brand continues to be a key driver of growth for the Chinese tech giant.

3. Apple

Tech large Apple has tumbled right down to the third position in the list. the company shipped 41.2 million iPhones and showed a modest growth of 0.7% as compared with the last year shipped 41.0 million units. the company performed well in the premium section as its most expensive iPhone X is the best seller in many of the markets. the company has 12.1% market share world wide in the second quarter. it's expected that the company may regain management of the market this fall with the launch of three next generations of iPhone models.


4. Xiaomi

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi sits on the fourth position in the list. though the company is earlier ahead than Samsung in india, but has shipped a total of 31.9 million units globally throughout the second quarter. the company has total market share of nine.3%.

5. Oppo


The fifth position is captured by another Chinese smartphone maker -- Oppo. Oppo saw an increase of 5.1% over last year because it continuing its growth into different markets like the middle East . the company shipped a total of 29.4 million devices and the the} recent launch of Oppo find X has also got some appreciation to the company.
